I’ve been adding alt text to some .docx files over the past few days (25.2.7.2, macOS Sonoma) and exporting them as PDFs, which are fine. But earlier today, I went back to one of my files, and all of my Alt Texts are missing.
Is this a known bug?
The only thing that I might have done is that I set up a hotkey to bring up the Alt Text menu to save some mouse clicks. But this is happening to some files that I haven’t touched since I did that.
Here’s a sample file. Right-click on the R3 thing, add some Alt Text, and save the file. Then close it and re-open it, and the Alt Text isn’t there any more.

It seems Word docx format does not support Alt Text for equations. Save in native .odt format if you want to retain Alt Text for equations
It did until about a day ago, because I’d reload the files in .docx format, and they’d still be there.
It does for images, just not for equations.
It was saving alt text for formulas, too.
I previously tried saving the file as an .odt file, but all the math formulas became white-on-white when I did that.
Hmm. When I save your demo.docx sample as .odt, the R³ remains black text. Is it from the same document? Maybe make a copy of your document and delete all except a couple of equations and a little text, save (as docx). Then test that equations still save as white on white when saved as .odt and post to your question Changing colors of all formulas
I checked that a change in global font colour also affects Math (click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Appearance and under Customisations, check Font Color. The default is Automatic). While you are there, what is shown under LibreOffice Themes?
If you open LibreOffice in Safe Mode (Help > Restart in Safe Mode > Continue in Safe Mode), open your file and save as .odt, do the formulas change to white on white?

I did notice that If I change Font Color as above then I need to click Tools > Update > Update all (or double click each formula) before the formulas will change colour.
I don’t remember which document had the text changing color. The full document that I clipped and posted seems to be working fine.
Maybe I didn’t “Update all” before.
It just seems strange that things went wrong a couple of days ago, without me updating anything.
