No images showing - macro file download required

My images don’t show up in Writer (from today??) using 7.2.4.1. on Mac Big Sur (because writer was all over the place with the newer versions)

In image ‘properties’ under ‘macro’ tab, it says ‘image cannot load’, but gave the url of the macro file it suggests I need.

I tried to copy and paste but it wouldn’t, so I clicked ok, and now it won’t show the url again and I cannot find what I’m supposed to be looking for in Libre Office downloads…

Can anyone point me to the macro download files for mac writer?? Thanks

There are the assigned macros (the URL of the macro functions or subroutines) located under Macro TAB of the Properties. Maybe the macro is not available now.

Are you using linked images in your document? Maybe the images are not available now on the stored URL.

Can you ulpoad an ODF type sample file here?

If you click the View menu, is Images and Charts ticked? If not, click the entry to tick it and make images and charts visible.

Thanks Friend that resolved it immediately :+1:t2:
It’s not good that by default Writer throws up an error message saying it requires a JDK Java downloads (of which there are a multitude of versions and types) to resolve this - when it is simply resolved by Images and Charts - Thank you again.

That might be a coincidence but it should occur only with Base, maybe you were doing a mail merge?

Regrettably I wasn’t doing anything more than word processing with images in Writer, when somehow I deselected ‘Images and Charts’ in the View menu.

It then decided it needed Java files to reveal the images - so I booted and rebooted to try and clear it, and downloaded a whole new version, but the ‘missing Java files’ error message came up every time, until you suggested select Images and Charts which resolved it.
