Non colouring of highlighted text.

In writer, when I highlight text in a colour, it does not show on my screen. When it is sent to someone else, it is coloured. When they send it back to me, it is coloured. How do I get the colour show on my screen?

Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Accessibility and set High Contrast to Disabled

Is your screen set too bright?

Have you restarted LibreOffice if you recently changed themes?

If you click Help > Restart in safe mode > Continue in Safe Mode can you open the document and see the highlighting?

In Safe Mode, I can see the highlighting but when I reload the document in Normal Mode, there is no highliighting again. I have changed High Contrast to Disbled.

It might be a graphics issue, try this: click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View and tick the box Force Skia software rendering, OK. Allow LibreOffice to restart.

If you have Track Changes turned on that can interfere with the text colour and maybe the highlight colour.

Have you tested to send the file to yourself?

It could be a corruption of the user profile.

Please, click on the button next to “Version information”, in menu Help - About LibreOffice (This is the guide - How to use the Ask site? - #3 by Hrbrgr), edit your question and paste there. Thanks.
