Not easy to delete tables/rows in Writer

It would seem much easier if table rows or entire tables could be deleted (or cut) using the del key or Ctrl-X when selected, rather than just the contents of the cells.

It seems quite fiddly to remove tables or rows, when this is a very common operation. And is arguably more common than wanting to delete only the contents of rows.

I’m on Linux and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Down doesn’t work for me out of the box but this does:

Delete Row:
Select the row (by whatever means) Ctrl+Shift+Del deletes the row.

Delete Table:
Select the table (by whatever means) Ctrl+Shift+Del deletes the table.

(You may modify the shortcut key in the menu Tools → Customize…)

Delete Table: Select the table

Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Down

or

Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Up
