Off-Line LO 24.2.1.2 Help does not work any more

I have not used LO for a while. It was upgraded automatically to V24.2.1.2. Now it behaves funny as Calc things that used to work is now broken. To start with, pressing F1 brings up a NewHelp1.html writer interface which seems rather useless for me. I tried to manually to install the latest GB help (libobasis24.2-en-gb-help_24.2.1.2-2_amd64.deb) with GDebi, but got “Dependency” issue (>=24.2.1.2) .
apt search libreoffice-help-en-* gives:
libreoffice-help-en-gb/jammy,jammy,now 4:24.2.1~rc2-0ubuntu0.22.04.1~lo1 all [installed]
office productivity suite – English_british help

libreoffice-help-en-us/jammy,jammy,now 4:24.2.1~rc2-0ubuntu0.22.04.1~lo1 all [installed]
office productivity suite – English_american help
Any advice?

As you are on Ubuntu, are you using LO installed from deb packages, or as snap? Getting dependency issues for >=24.2.1.2 you didn’t say what issues. Or were you trying to mix and install help downloaded from the LO website? That won’t work. The apt search output though suggests the Ubuntu deb packages are installed… you might want to ask your friendly package maintainers.

Thanks erAck. The problem was that my browser for whatever reason did not activate Javascripts. I found out by going to /usr/share/libreoffice/help/en-GB/scalc/main0000,html, activate it and it warned that Java Scripscrip it is not enabled. I checked the setting with about:config, but it was! I then set Chrome as my browser default and, whala, it worked! Today I reboot and set Firefox back as default and out of the blue LO offline just started to work as it should. That’s why have a love/hate relationship with software. Wonderfull if it works, lots of frustration if it does not.
