Office office - writer - 6.4.7.2 - search results - # of times a word is found

hi all,

just trying to do a search for a word in libre office - writer - 6.4.7.2

i do this alot so its important for it to be efficient

i’m doing a search like you all do;

  1. CTRL-F to open the Find search box.
  2. Type your word into the search box.

what i want to see is how many times that word appears in the document.

no - i don’t want to click on another menu to see this info, i need it to be outputted right then in there.

i’m sure is a setting somewhere. i just have no idea where it is :wink:

thx

Use Ctrl+H instead, click Find all, then it will show the number of finds below the Find box.

hi f

that takes you too long :frowning:

because if you hit enter in the ctrl-h box, its default is ‘find next’ and not ‘find all’

about ctrl-f, theres gotta be a way to customize it so we can view this info near the ‘find box’ results

In Find & Replace, hit Alt+A for Find All, instead of Enter.
The Find & Replace dialogue is also useful to find whole words only, e.g. the while excluding their, there, these, etc.

In the Find box (Ctrl+F) click the Find All icon and read number of finds directly underneath the icon
