Office writer is constantly crashing

using 24.8.2.1

I have recently encountered a frustrating problem with office writer that is causing the program to crash all the time making it unusable. An odt file crashes soon after opening.

OW had previously started acting strange by prompting me to “recover” a file I was trying to open it. In the past odt files would quickly open, now the action causes a recover file window.

I am forced to use another laptop where writer opens normally
I downloaded and reloaded OW but that didnt solve the problem
Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there a fix?

Office writer constantly crashes after opening odt file

Using 2.4.8.1 Have been using OW for years but have recently developed frustrating problems. It started with being prompted to “recover” the document I was trying to open. In the past clicking on a file immediately resulted in opening the document. Now when the document opens OW crashes and returns me to my desktop. This problem only occurs on my everyday laptop and does not occur on my desktop PC Have tried reinstalling OW but it didnt help to solve the problem. Any ideas on what may be c…
