In writer I start with a few words, than hit ENTER and start the next sentence with a tap and write the next few words. When I hit ENTER again, the cursor goes to the next line and the tap in the previous line disappears. I have Writer installed on an Ubuntu and a second win11 computer. This phenomenon does not a happen on both, just the first win11 computer. What can cause this?
I corrected the title.
Click Tools > AutoCorrect > AutoCorrect Options > Options and untick:
- Delete spaces and tabs at beginning and end of paragraph
- Delete spaces and tabs at beginning and end of line
Better still, don’t use tabs at the beginning of a paragraph to indent the paragraph but use paragraph style Body Text, Indented.
If all the body of your document will use indented paragraphs, then edit the style for Body Text to include a first line indent.
If you will always use indented paragraphs in your documents then create a new document, edit the style for Body Text to include a first line indent, and make the document the Default template.
