Open Office un install before Libre?

Hi all, new here and planning to download LibreOffice. My question is, do I need to uninstall Open Office 4.1.15 first or can I just leave it on place? I have a 2TB HD so space is no object. I’m still running Win 8.1 and my next upgrade will be to Linux Mint alongside this 8.1.

I have both installed on Windows 10 for over 3 years with no problems, but use LO only, on Linux.

Is it possible to run LibreOffice and OpenOffice side by side?

Hi, I’ve been using OpenOffice pretty much since it came out but I need to supply stuff in Word format so I think I need to switch to LibreOffice. Is it possible to have both installed during the transition process or would I risk corrupting files? Thanks!
