opening document problem: How do I open all documents in “NORMAL” mode rather than “WEB” mode
A related (but not identical) topic is answered here. For this question, that answer would need to be reversed (to make HTML filter use com.sun.star.text.TextDocument document service). I don’t see how it could default to normal view for @ajlittoz, when the normal association for HTML documents is using Web document.
@JIM7 Please avoid answering by mail, or at least take the trouble to remove the copy of the text you are answering to (you are using the Ask site, so using your email habits makes the topic full of overquoting and general mess). Thank you.

Menu View>Normal
If you have no menu View, revert to Standard UI first.
PS: it is always very helpful to mention OS name, LO version and save format.

I can change it to “Normal”, that is not my question. I want it to open HTML in “Normal” mode as default … every time.
My .html open in Normal view. Then open one of your HTMLs, change to Normal View, save the document in a scratch location. Quit LO. This will update your user profile.
In principle, next time you open LO, it’ll be in Normal View.
If this is not the case, add a custom keyboard shortcut to View>Normal View for ease of change.

I tried all ‘save’ options I know of, but none worked.

My .html open in Normal view. Then open one of your HTMLs, change to Normal View, save the document in a scratch location. Quit LO. This will update your user profile.
In principle, next time you open LO, it’ll be in Normal View.

Well, that’s the point, isn’t it? MY html does NOT open in “Normal” … it always opens in “Web.” Other documents open in “Normal,” it is only html that opens in “Web,” and that is annoying.
