Opening LibreOffice files in Windows 11

Since upgrading to Windows 11, I found that Open Office had an issue opening files. It always failed the first time but then would open the file on the second attempt. Support on that website recommended changing over to LibreOffice, but I have even more problems opening files using this software. It always takes 3 or more attempts before the program will open a file. Is there a fix for this problem?

Doesn’t sound familiar on any OS. Files should either open directly or not at all.
.
My only idea would be an “agressive” security system, wich always checks online, if files are safe to open or verifies complete LibreOffice on every access etc. This could explain extreme delays.
.
(And I assume you would have mentioned, if your files have to be synced from some cloud, before you open them… )
.
Have you other “downloaded” programs not coming from MS? Do they work ok?

Hi Wanderer…

Thanks for responding so quickly.

I use Total AV for antivirus protection but I haven’t seen any evidence of it being activated during the opening of files.

I don’t sync anything to the cloud. I have many other non-MS apps and none of them are having the same issue.

This issue only started happening after I upgraded to Window 11. Up to that point, Open Office had worked just fine. As I previously stated, I only switched over to Libre Office because someone suggested that this was a known issue with Open Office and it wouldn’t be with Libre Office.

I’m surprised no one else is reporting this problem.
