SO I open my MS Access 2002 database in the directory, right click open with LibreOffice and Libreoffice is hung…?

You cannot open an Access DB directly with LO. You can connect to it using Base but you will only have access to tables and possibly some queries. 64-bit LO in Windows using Base to connect to Access has a problem.
