Page number - paragraph formatting dialog vs. style inspector

One .odt document.
For certain paragraph a modification at following point was conducted:
paragraph contextual menu > Paragraph > Paragraph … > Text Flow tab > section Breaks > line Page number
If to navigate subsequently to style inspector the Paragraph Direct Formatting section one encounters following:
As far as same paragraph as paragraph the modification was made for “Page number offset” is indicated.
Hence these two locations are not aligned regarding which sort of setting is it - starting page number or page number offset.

I wonder if possible reason may be dirty set of formatting created in document or rather some Writer’s built-in rationale.
For this particular case:

  • Why is style inspector not indicating starting page numbering instead of offset in Paragraph Direct Formatting section?

alternatively

  • Why used field in paragraph formatting dialog, Text Flow tab, Breaks section is not referring to page number offset instead of page number? Is term “page number” this particular case maybe an term abbreviation for page number offset? This would be very unfortunate.

If Writer makes differentiation between starting page number and page number offset I wish the ui to reflect this differentiation in clear way everywhere user needs to know it.

You’re right. This is definitely a documentation bug resulting in user confusion.

I’ll file a bug report on your behalf.
