In the Paragraph panel of the Sidebar’s Properties deck, you can set Above/Below paragraph spacing. I’ve recently upgraded to version 7.3.5 and the default increments have changed - clicking + or - changes the paragraph spacing by 10 points. Surely this can be customised - but I can’t work out how. I’ve looked at the manual and the forum and can’t see anything relating to this. Thanks!
Strange, the common unit there is cm (at least on this side of the Atlantic). Even if you enter another unit, as soon as you press + or -, the distance is first converted to the nearest multiple of 0.10 cm then incremented/decremented by 0.10cm.
Which is your OS? and your locale?
Anyway, it is a bad habit to format manually your text with the properties sidebar or the toolbar because this creates direct formatting which will play nasty tricks on your back sooner or later. Learn to work with styles.
Weirdest thing: I usually work with points, but after reading your reply I changed the default unit to cm and observed what increment it was applying (on my system, a whole centimetre). I changed the default back to points, and now it increments/decrements in single points. I’ve no idea what was going on here, but it’s the outcome I wanted.
I take your point about styles, and I do usually use them, but for some documents, for various reasons, it’s quicker and easier for me to apply direct formatting.
Thanks!
