PDF conversion to Libre Office

I need to install a PDF converter. Will this work on Libre office writer. PDF company says it will convert to MS Word. Do you believe that it will work for Libre Office Writer

What do you want to convert from where to where?
ODT file to PDF?
PDF file to what?

Basically you can export to PDF from all components of LibreOffice.

Normal PDF are opened in Draw. But Draw is not a PDF editor, you can only make small changes.

For example, if you save a Writer document as a Hybrid PDF, it is possible to open this PDF again with Writer.

I receive PDF files daily that I need to convert from PDF to Libre writer. I need to do this because the PDF files are lengthy and I want to cut and past items that apply directly to me.

To use PDF24 would be an example:

What’s a “PDF company”? What’s “it”?

If there is a software converting the pdf files you get to MS Word files which fulfil your expectations, LibreOffice will most likely be able to work with these files and to convert them into ODF files (native formats for LibO).
If somebody claims to be able to do the conversion as a service they are in charge of demonstrating their abilities and to provide information.
If there is an online service or somebody needing full access to the source files it’s your responsibility to check for privacy issues and the like.

I use an expensive but older OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program to convert scanned documents in pdf to editable text. Although it will give a good approximation of the layout of the page, the formatting is arduous to edit. I always copy and paste as plain text anyway and then style afterwards, it is much quicker.

Maybe, newer programs use cleaner formatting but I wouldn’t count on it. If it were a pdf with selectable text, I would just copy it from a pdf reader and then format the text to suit.
