Phantom empty frame left where photo insert was deleted

I’m using LO version 7.5.2.2, windows 11, odt file.
I am using captions with photos and yes, when i move or delete a photo the caption remains and i delete it like other text. But now how to find and delete the outer frame?
I opened navigator on the side, and there are lots of frames and images listed, and i can click each and then go-to to see the image, but i cannot find the invisible something that is making almost an entire page unusable. When i right-click the paragraph icon and click delete, nothing happens; i can’t highlight it. Suggestions?

Use the navigator (F5) in the sidebar.
Search there for frames.
Right-click on the frame title in the Navigator and select Delete Frame (Del).

Have your photos ever received a caption? Insert>Caption creates a complex object with an outer frame containing the caption and the photo. If you delete the photo only, you’re left with the outer frame.

found answer – click edge of box to show edges, then right click and delete. Wheew!

A very valuable tool is the various visual clues provided by the View menu. In your case, activate View>Text Boundary and you’ll see the limits of every frame when it has no border. It then becomes easier to select frames and delete them.
