I’ve been experimenting with footnotes and cannot figure out the purpose of the Footnote Page Style. I try modifying the style but don’t see any changes in the footnotes I insert.
If you go to Tools → Footnotes and Endnotes...
and activate (see screenshot)
A page of footnotes is inserted.
Thanks for the information. That somewhat answers the question, but it seems the notes would then be end notes rather than footnotes.
Well, if you send 'footnotes" at end of document, they become logically endnotes. However, endnotes and footnotes, as “declared” when created, remain in different “dictionaries”. Therefore, if you have both footnotes and endnotes, they won’t mix and they’ll be set in separate page groups, one styled Footnotes, the other Endnotes.

Displays footnotes at the end of the document as endnotes.
