Is there an option do turn Writer Documents 90° in the editor?
Reason why I’m asking: printing is not properly working on macOS when paper is wider than long i.e. the paper has to be turned in the printer for landscape printout. Microsoft Word by the way faces the same issue.
Apples’ Pages is the only tool I know so far, which correctly determines paper dimensions, shows landscape documents in portrait mode on the screen and then sends them correctly in landscape mode on the printer.
Here you write:
Microsoft Word by the way faces the same issue.
But in your other question, you write:
Fun fact: Microsoft Word shows- and prints the page dimensions of the .odt file from LO correctly.
Confusing.
Microsoft Word swaps portrait with landscape mode after a the .docx file is closed and re-opened, but displays the print preview in the way it is sent to the printer (WYSIWYG). LO swaps portrait and landscape mode and does not even send the correct paper size to the printer unless you chose a paper size that is can be print in portrait mode, such as A4. If you user-define a paper size of 220 x 110 (DIN-Long) it sends a C5 document or something in-between to the printer. If the printer has an automated paper size detection, it will just refuse to print on DL envelopes.
Apples’ Pages does it right: it evaluates in which direction the paper fits into the printer and sends it turned by 90° (110 x 220) only to the printer, while maintaining the correct aspect ratio on the screen (220 x 110).
One change the style of a specific page by means of the style-settings. Choose page-style and apply a landscape-style.
Dear Père, if I do choose the “landscape” style, I get stuck with this error:
