Post Formatting Help on ask.libreoffice.org

Is there a page that explains the tools available to people who post here? Here’s a screenshot of the toolbar I see when I want to post here.

Questions I’d hope to find answers for are: “How do I include a break between lines in my post?” and “What is the functionality of the Preformatted text tool?”.

In an original post or a solution post, just use the Enter key. In a comment, you can use the HTML tag <br/> in conjunction with the Enter key to force a blank line.

Amongst other things, to allow one to display characters which might otherwise be interpreted as formatting, such as the BR tag above.

Also see This is the Guide… which may have some helpful information for you.

I found this topic when I was looking for information about spacing between paragraphs.

The amount of space in the editing preview was what I expected, but when I entered the post, the space between the paragraphs would disappear, so I would edit it and add a <br>.

It seems many forums are switching to Discourse. The built-in, interactive discobot tutorials were helpful.

I found these additional resources helpful:

It’s funny now when I go to a non-discourse type forum and I highlight some of the OP’s post and wait for the popup asking me if I want to quote the text and it never does
