Prevent Writer to split line in a footnote

Create a new document, type “see the footnote”, insert a footnote, and in the footnote text type the following:

This is a footnote . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Then add a second space after the word “footnote”. You will see that the word “footnote” has moved to the next line. Why it happens and how to prevent it? Probably there is some setting, but I cannot find it.

For me (LO 7.0.6.2, Windows 10.0) when I add the second space it behaves as expected.

When a point is at the end of the first line, the text wraps well; but if there is a space, no. Don’t know why.

If do you need to add a filling with dots, see Formatting text consisting with lots of dashes - #3 by LeroyG
