I tried to print a #10 envelope. I am using the LibreOffice snap version 358 on Ubuntu 24.04. My printer is an Epson WF-3540. All attempts have failed, which according to all the other posts on this subject is a fairly common outcome. The steps I took are as follows:
- Opened LibreOffice writer
- Clicked on Insert tab, then envelope
- Filled in addressee and sender addresses under the Envelope tab
- Then clicked on the Format tab, #10 Envelope was selected and positions seemed fine.
- Clicked on printer tab and selected vertical center, print from top
- Then clicked on the Epson printer setup button on the same window.
- On the printer setup dialog that opened I selected properties. Then changed paper size to envelope #10, Orientation to landscape, paper tray set to automatic. then clicked OK. then OK again
- then I selected New Document, which opened a new window showing the envelope with the addresses.
- Then from the main menu bar I select File and then Print. This shows the print dialog window.
- If I hit Print, I get notified that the print job has been created, but it never prints. Eventually I have to delete it from the print que. where it is shown as paused.
All other documents seem to print just fine. I just can’t print an envelop.
I ended up loading up a copy of MS Office 2007 on a Windows 11 Virtual Machine and had no dificulties printing an envelope. Seems to be a problem with LibreOffice.
