Printing: area to be printed, font size

How do you control print area on a spreadsheet?

How do get printer to recognize font size

Please see Help, Using Print Ranges on a Spreadsheet

You can:

  • Click Format > Page Style > Sheet and set the scaling factor to 100%, but maybe you would prefer to shrink to fit on a set number of pages (font size will be scaled)
  • Or click File > Print Preview and adjust scale there. You might want to set page orientation first in Format > Page Style > Page

This seems to be the task of your printer-driver. In some cases this will be answered as “not at all”, because the very simple printer will only receive a digital image of your page, while all rendering is done in the driver.
.
In the other cases there is a wide range of “languages” from old ESC/P (wich I remember from DOS-programs, where we really had commands for the printer in the code) to sophisticated engines like postscript (so in some offices the most powerful computer was hidden in the printer).
.
If you have problems in this area my recommendation is to export as pdf first, then print the pdf (please not from LibreOffice-Draw, but from any pdf-viewer). Compare results with printing from LibreOffice.
