Problem Creating Pie Charts

Hi there.

I’ve recently migrated to LibreOffice after a tumultuous crash of MS Office (and I’m NEVER going back there again!). I’m now on a learning curve in LibreOffice, so please forgive me if this is a question with an obvious answer I can’t see!

My Excel spreadsheets are working OK in Calc, but I want to re-create the pie charts I’ve now lost during the conversion process to ODS.

The Help system, under “pie charts:options” says “To access this command… choose Format - Format Selection - Data Series - Options tab (Charts)” - but under “Format” I do not see “Format Selection” so I can’t progress from there. I’ve tried it with cells highlighted and not highlighted, but it makes no difference to what’s in the Format drop-down menu.

Could you provide simple MSO document with this pie chart?

And for pie chart. Why not to use Insert → Object → Diagram.

I’m a stupid klutz.

I’ve just found the “Chart” icon in the toolbar, and the rest looks pretty self-explanatory. So I think I’m OK now!
