My wife opened an odt file this morning with Writer and discovered it was blank, although the status bar at the bottom had nonzero word and character counts. I created a new document and the cursor did not show up in the body of the document. I could type and the status bar would show words and characters, but there wasn’t any evidence of it on the screen. I switched the font from the default to Garamond and suddenly things worked fine. However, I wasn’t able to apply the font change to existing documents. I uninstalled and reinstalled LibreOffice but the issue persists. I emailed the file to myself and on my account on the same computer it opens fine. I tried starting in safe mode with and without the graphical acceleration options and none of those configurations fixed the problem. What can I do to fix the program on her account?
