How do I download older versions of libreoffice? I have created documents in an old version and now my Mac is too old to update to the requirements for the latest download.
Moved to the English category. Tagged as common.
Can’t you open your documents in the current version? What are the extensions? For example, .sxw was the previous format of now .odt. I can still open them and I take the opportunity of edits to convert them to .odt. The same can probably be said about old formats for Calc, Impress and Draw.
For adequate advice, tell us about the document extensions, your OS and LO versions.
Thank you ajlittoz. I changed the file extension and I can now read the file although the format is all over the place. How do I download a version that is compatible with my Mac using MacOS 10.13.6?
Silver surfer, you may have to take me step by step.
On the official download site, you find also the “release notes” for the downloads (at the end, so scoll down a bit to "Platform compatibility). So i can cite
- LibreOffice 7.4 requires macOS 10.13 or newer to run.
Therefore there is no need to check for the archive now, try the current still version 7.4.7 - I guess for an “older” Mac you have to use the Mac(Intel)-Version. For newer hardware it will be important to check, if the maindnoard is based on the new Apple M1 or M2 processor (ARM-Design). Not always recommended as this might change the “understanding” of the document by the application or launch the wrong program.
What do you mean? Can you provide an example? This may betray the fact that your document was not saved in native format (e.g. saved in RTF: I have very old documents written in Word for Mac which were saved RTF so that I can import them into my Linux box; they came out with funny formatting).

Older versions of LibreOffice (no longer updated!) are available in the archive.
