LibreOffice Dark highlighting of referenced text makes the text unreadable. There appears to be no highlighting in LibreOffice. Is there any way to alter the highlighting?

Steps

  1. Highlight a piece of text
  2. Insert->Fields->More Fields->Set Reference fill in Name
  3. Highlight a piece of text
  4. Insert->Fields->More Fields->Insert Reference & Reference Text
  5. Tools->Options->Appearance Colors->Scheme->LibreOffice
  6. Observe inserted reference has no highlighting.
  7. Tools->Options->Appearance Colors->Scheme->LibreOffice Dark
  8. Observe highlighting obscures text.

As there were a lot of changes in dark-mode I’d suggest to check the latest 7.5 version. But keep a backup of your profile and install, in case you don’t like the new version… (Usually there should also be a portable version for Win10 to test without install, but at moment this it not available for 7.5.0 - should be fixed with 7.5.1.x)

No change in LO 7.5.0.3. In LO Dark Mode, highlighting makes the reference text unreadable. Perhaps the next update will have a change.

Dark mode was moved out of experimental so developers could get more feedback.
Next update might not have any change unless you report it, see How to Report Bugs in LibreOffice - The Document Foundation Wiki
