In Writer, after i have resized a page that i have text on and saved it, when i reopen, it is no longer the same size as before closing; it has gotten smaller. I want my pages to be full screen, but beginning half an inch before the top, so i can monitor the tabs on Chrome open behind it to see if i have new mail, etc.
I have been using Writer this way for many years now and i don’t recall having this problem until the past few months. Any suggestions to keep resized page stable in size after closing and reopening?
Thanks Hrbrgr - i didn’t realize there was a new version available, so i just downloaded it. But when i opened a new text document, it is still just about a quarter page in size in the upper left corner, not the full page as in the past. I’ll watch for a while and see what happens with other, resized documents when reopened.
Thanks for taking the time to guide me in this – i really appreciate your help! -dan
By page do you mean window? Window size and position is remembered by operating system. If you open the Start Centre and resize it to suit then a document opened from there the window will take the size and position of the Start Centre window. If you close LibreOffice and start it again the Start Centre will open to your previously adjusted size and position.
The order in which you close documents is important too. If you have three documents open and then close them in order A, B, C then when you start LibreOffice again the first document opened will be size and position of C, 2nd B, and 3rd will be size and position of A.
Thank you EarnestAl for your help. Another respondent suggested updating to the most recent version of LibreOffice, which i did, and the problem seems to be better, so maybe it was just a bug that got fixed. But i am keeping your reply for future use if needed.
Bless you, kind soul.
