Saving custom user images to Gallery directory created by user

In Draw I am creating some many used images and “dropping” them into a Gallery Sub-directories created by myself. Some user created sub-directories save correctly. Some do not save. Image previews appear as black shapes, some appear as the item saved but have a black background. (Makes image difficult to see.)

One post (sorry, did not note where I found it) suggested to delete the .~lock file associated with my project file. However, every time I close LibreOffice Draw these lock files disappear from the directory location (where they were generated.)

Items are drawings created in Draw and some are text boxes (F2) created in Draw.

Suggestions? Am I doing (saving) incorrectly? Why the black backgrounds in thumbnails?

Hi,
please provide versions of LibreOffice and operating system. (Help menu ↦ About LibreOffice :: Version information ↦ copy/paste)

This is a regular behaviour.

On my system no problem, previews are okay.

Explain some details and share a sample file including drawing objects with described problems.

And normal!

Attached is an image (screenshot) of my Gallery.

As you will see the icons or (what I call) thumbnail images have a balck background. These were created in default Draw screen which is a whist background. I have renamed the image titles (from “dd****” to a proper title.) This helps me to find what I need.

I could saving images incorrectly, I do not know.

And yes, it strikes me that the .~lock file should disappear upon program closing. So, I agree that this is normal behavior.

Sorry about not including version info on my first post. I know better but I forgot.

By the looks of it, these are PNG files with a transparent background.

Also related to transparencies of WEBP and TIF formats.
Should we write a Feature request?

You are welcome to do that.
I would then confirm.

Graphics programs typically use a pattern to represent transparency, for example GIMP:

134684 HB pattern Transparency

Enhancement request was created here:
