The mouse wheel scroll functionality is extremely slow in v26. It is ridiculous how long it takes to scroll through anything. What changes were made to Writer that screwed this up and how do I correct the ERROR that aids and abets this ERROR?
Since wheel scrolling is tightly related to OS functionality, edit your question to mention OS name, exact LO version (with at least four numeric components) and save format. Also the way you format your document has a huge impact on scroll performance: long paragraphs, i.e. use of line breaks instead of paragraph breaks, multi-column sections spanning several pages, tables with cells spanning several pages and, above all, direct formatting.
Okay, I upgraded LibreOFFICE from v25.2 to v26.2. That is all that I did. I did not make any changes to any settings of either the pathetic OS or, to the environment of LibreOFFICE v26.2. When I loaded the document that I was composing the scroll functionality was incredibly slow/disappointing as the scroll was at best in a type of SLOW MOTION take-forever MODE. (Oh for pizza sake.) I could use the vertical slider to move quickly in the document but, that action is most undesirable as I think most USERS would also prefer to use the mouse wheel to scroll about. Now, I could be wrong about that and IF so then I would owe you a 14" pizza-pie with 3 toppings.
OS = the very pathetic WIN 11 Home, and I am a fingernail distance away from trashing this WIN11 installed trash and replacing it with LINUX Ubuntu, Mint or Red Hat. I’m not a happy camper at the moment.
On February 18, Windows 11 finally forced the 25H2 upgrade on everyone who hadn’t already upgraded. Maybe a cause? Check that your computer is not asking to reboot.

Otherwise, go into Control Panel - mouse and set the number off lines for the scroll wheel to 3 (the default) or as desired.

Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View and tick the box Force Skia software rendering. OK and allow LibreOffice to restart. If the box is already ticked, do not untick it to see what happens.
