None of the File-Send options actually attaches the file to the new email. I’m sure it used to - has something changed?
If your memory is right obviously. The question is, when did you last used this. So is it a recent update or did you also chang your version of Ubuntu?

Generally we see now more often problems also with the help-system where programs don’t see files from other programs. Especially when some of them are actually Snaps, wich are usually restricted to some folders.

You need to find out, where LibreOffice will place the (maybe temporary) file and if Thunderbird can access this place, if you try to attach this from Thunderbird…
