Single-direction & Simultaneous Scrolling in Calc

I’d like better control over scrolling in Calc. I’m guessing these things are already possible, if someone can tell me how…

  1. How can I scroll in only a single direction in Calc? ie scroll just vertically, and not have it also shift horizontally as I drag slightly imperfectly on my trackpad?

  2. When I have two windows open in Calc, how do I scroll both windows simultaneously? (I’m comparing two similar spreadsheets side-by-side)

(Mac Catalina, LO 7.3.2.2 in case that matters.)

Select the last visible column in the window, choose menu View - Freeze Rows and Columns.

Not sure in Mac, but I never saw something like that.
As a workaround, in Linux and Windows, you can press Alt+Tab and PgDn (or maybe Ctrl+Down arrow) once for each window.

On my laptop (PC) to scroll I need two fingers on the trackpad. If one of the fingers runs down the edge of the trackpad then Calc scrolls precisely up and down (or left and right if bottom edge)
