I have a sentence with Autonumber Function enabled. Pressing a new number appear. If I use Backspace, the number is deleted but the Autonumber Function is still enabled, so I have to press F12 to disabled. Who can I disable the Autonumber Function using only Backspace?
When at the end of a numbered list you press the return/enter key, new paragraph appears as a new numbered list entry (empty entry at the end, numbered and ready for input) there are two useful keyboard shortcuts:
- Immediately press backspace to disable numbering for this paragraph, so the new paragraph in the list will belong to the previous numbered entry.
- Immediately press Enter once again to end the numbered list, reverting to normal text flow.
In this situation, the enter key will not insert another paragraph break, but only change the state of current paragraph from list item to normal text.
This is not possible with Bksp because it is intended to temporarily suspend numbering. You use this function to insert an unnumbered item in a list while preserving indents so that this unnumbered items lines up nicely with the numbered items.
Another way to revert to “standard” unnumbered paragraphs is to use paragraph styles specifically designed for lists. You assign this paragraph to start a list and you revert to Text Body at the end of the list either explicitly from the toolbar menu or with Ctrl+0.
A “specifically designed paragraph style” can be one of Numbering n after associating it with a list style like Numbering 123.
Thank you for your help… Pressing enter key twice is the solution to my problem
