I’ve noticed that as I use longer, nested formulae, I tend to get a little lost when editing, as the beginning of each nested function occurs at an abitrary point in the cell, depending on how long the function is i.e. each nested function doesn’t start at the beginning of each line when viewing the formula within the cell itself.
I realise I can view the formula using the menu bar above, however this poses a different issue, as the formula is largely obscured by its small size.
Due to these two “issues”, I sometimes find it difficult to read/conceptualise the way a formula works in its entirety, particularly when many functions are nested.
This got me thinking: what are some strategies the more experienced users here employ to assist with improving the layout of formula in order to edit it more easily?
Something I was doing for awhile was copy/pasting the formula into Writer, then separating each function into its own line, editing it, then copy/pasting it back into Calc. This does work, but I’m wondering if there’s a faster/easier method?
