Strikethroughs Lost Copying from Calc to Writer

Simple question, I think. I have created a single-column spreadsheet listing various authors and the books they’ve written. Everything is in text; no numbers. After a particular book is read, I use “strikethrough” to place a horizontal line through the title. The spreadsheet is 1 column wide and roughly 1000 rows tall. I then select the cells with entries and copy them to the clipboard. Next I open a new Writer file and paste the clipboard into the new document. Using the Format > Column command, I can create three columns out of the one original column and print everything out without using 100 sheets of paper. This all worked fine with Excel and Word. I do fine up to the point of pasting the info into the writer document when I notice all of the strikethroughs have disappeared. I tried “Paste Special” and used each of the choices available there but still no luck. Is this a glitch? Am I overlooking something? Any suggestions appreciated to keep the strikethroughs from disappearing. Thanks in advance.

In which format do you save your files?

Please specify to all inquiries:
operating system
LibreOffice version (four-digit, e.g. 7.4.5.1).
file type in which saved your file

Excellent question. I’m saving the spreadsheet as .xlsx. Could that be my problem?

No.

Not all text attribution is preserved when copy-pasting cells from Calc to Writer, for which internally RTF (Rich Text Format) is used, among them strike-through. Selecting HTML from Paste Special does it.

You are correct; I have been able to duplicate your results. My mistake. When I tried “all” of the options with Paste Special, I specifically skipped HTML because I thought it wasn’t applicable. I’ll submit the bug report and post the info.

Many thanks for your help.
