Suggested Calc improvements

Hi.
I have tried to do the official ‘make a suggestion’ way numerous times before but it never works so please excuse me for posting these Calc suggestions here in the hope they will get taken up.

  1. Be able to adjust the coding window (Alt-F11) text size. I’m getting older and finding it increasingly hard to read the small text in the coding window.
  2. Scientists usually drag out over two columns for the data they want to plot. But Calc’s default chart seems to see both columns as different series to be plotted against the number of data items in the series, rather than in an “x and a f(x)” relationship, i.e. for plotting f(x) against x. Please have a checkbox in the initial ‘Chart Type’ window to select “x->f(x) Data” so the x values can go on the x-axis and corresponding f(x) values on the y-axis directly.
  3. Please have a checkbox to hide the chart preview. It is very often useful to see the data below the chart. Especially when you have many columns of data. As it stands, you have to complete the chart options then move the chart out of the way and re-go into the chart options if you didn’t get the columns perfectly right first time around.
  4. Please have (swap x and y values) check box option either in Chart Type setup of on the right-click dialog box when right clicking the chart. It would be excellent for people like me that >50% of the time always seem to get the order’s the wrong way around :frowning:
  5. Please have a “mark as anomalous” point feature on the graph so that trendlines etc ignore the point (maybe show the point with a circle around it.
  6. Please continue developing LO. I love it and contribute regularly to it.

Please try Menu / Tools / Options / LibreOffice / Fonts, Size: (at the bottom of the window).

Thank you soko92. That’s really helped me. Playing with code is going to be
far more pleasurable now. Thanks again!
