Switch units in Writer > Table Properties > Columns from percent back to inches

In LO Writer (26.8.0.3, 64-bit Linux), when editing a table’s properties, there’s a Columns tab where you set the width of each column under the constraint that they add up to the full table width.

This has always been in absolute units for me (which are inches on my installation, obviously some people will prefer other units). My most recent document instead presents percentages, which is not what I want for many of my use cases.1

I do not see an option to change this behavior from percent back to absolute units/inches. If I try to specify values using, e.g., 2.5" or 2.5in these unit indicators are ignored, and the number is unhelpfully treated as a percent.

Is there a way to switch to absolute units (as is apparently set in my LO Writer General and View preferences), or is this some change in recent versions of LO?

1. Answers explaining that I should actually prefer percent are unwelcome.

In the same dialog, Table Tab check if is checked Relative Width
