thanks mate this is what i wanted.
can the Dialog have a minimize/maximize feature ?
also the other thing i need is something like a container box in the Dialog in which to place other controls like buttons
the ‘Group Box’ doesn’t serve this purpose
the inner controls should behave like ‘children’ of the container

I think there is no such control.
Resizing of dialog with appropriate resizing of the internal controls - the problem can be realized, although quite sophisticated tools.
Some built-in LO dialogs are resizable.
