Table problem after upgrade to 7.6 from 7.5

Every month, I produce a writer document containing a three column table with over seventy entries, each with two lines of text… It is formatted so that it occupies three A5 (portrait) pages. After upgrading, each row has additional space above and below the text, expanding the table tlo occupy 4 pages. I have checked all the parameters and I cannot reduce the table back to its original three pages. I would rather not revert to 7.5 to resolve this problem but is there any other solution?

Do you have any of the old documents which you created using v.7.5, and if so, do they display the same “inflated” state when opened in v.7.6? If so, i’d say it is most likely caused by a bug.

Inflation may be caused by different size characters (other font in use or other point size selected.)
It may also come from a change in spacing, either for text/paragraph, table, or page. I know you said that you checked all the parameters, but I say it anyway:

  • Check the paragraph style used for table content
    • Is it the same as before?
    • Is line spacing or paragraph spacing changed?
  • Check in Table properties - Borders:
    • is spacing to content the same?
    • If you have lines delimiting table cells, are line thicknesses the same?
  • Check Format - Page
    • Are margins the same?
    • Have you accidently enabled page header/footer?
    • If you have (intentional) header footer, is the spacing changed?

Hi Keme,

I have tried every one of the suggestions you have made without finding a solution; however, I opened an earlier version of my document and it does not exhibit the same problem. I tried to open the problem document in Word and it failed to open, leading me to think that it is corrupted.
