Theme in 25.2 default to dark but that's not good for me!

Hi

Just installed v25.2. It messes with my default themes! Apps (Writer and Calc) are both dark (yikes!) and that plays havoc with existing files. Icons too are displayed on taskbar wit no icons/colours (yikes!).

Tried several hints from online search to reset them but it’s tricky and I can’t reset these things so that they match what I had before. I just want to upgrade and get on with my work but this fiddling about is a waste of time.

Why can’t the new version install while retaining scheme from v24?

Anyway, I am sure there’s a simple answer. Any help appreciated. Sticking with v24 for now …

Thanks. So far I have no problem with Libre’s functionality (but see below) other than the fact that the upgrade did not appear to preserve my settings from v24. As soon as I get around to it I will upgrade to v25 now that I understand a bit more about setting up the interface.

Do you know if there is a topic on this forum to make feature requests or operational queries? I do find that the performance of Libre is a bit laggy. E.g. menus are slow to react to mouse clicks. Is there a forum area to discuss this?

Note: I am a Windows user.

Right now, I installed LO 25.2 on a Windows 10 system. The system is not in dark mode nor was the previous version 24.2. The installation went flawlessly and everything looks exactly as before, except for the new features of course.

I guess the issue here is that for some users the installation of v25 did not/does not preserve (some) settings from the previous install of v24.

I’ve got it sorted now but it is a detail in the install procedure that might need looking at (?). I am fairly new to Libre and although I was a proficient Word user Libre is a little more complex, and occasionally a bit obscure. It takes some getting used to!

For info my View options in v24 are:
Mode: System
Theme: Automatic (Colibre ((dark))
Icon Size: all automatic
Graphics: all on

The install of v25 appeared to change both my Mode and theme settings!

When I get around to it I will try v25 again.

@Bouf posted a bug report, tdf#165203, with apparent workaround of
when I set my appearance in Macos as light, then go in Libre office, change the appearance to system in the preferences, the colour is set correctly.
