TOC page does not use same background as rest of document

I use a dark theme (background black), with colors for attributes adjusted accordingly. The TOC does not use the same background, it appears light grey. I tried to locate the TOC page style and couldn’t find it. Is there any way to adjust my settings so that the TOC uses the same settings as the rest of the document? Lacking that, how do I change the background and items listed manually?

thanks

Please edit your question (don’t start a conversation at this stage) to mention basic information: OS name and LO version.

Tell us how you created your TOC. If this is done with Insert>TOC or Index>`TOC, Index or Bibliography’, have you modified the paragraph styles automatically assigned by Writer, notably Contents Heading or its ancestor Index Heading?

Are you using page styles? If so, how do you switch from one to the other? Implicitly through paragraph styles or explicitly with manual page breaks?

To find which page style is used in TOC, put you cursor anywhere in the TOC and look at the bottom status bar. Third data from left is current page style.

Choose Tools - Options… - LibreOffice - Application Colors, on Text Documents, set Index and table shadings to Black.

Congratulations @LeroyG! I didn’t understand the question was not a “formatting” one but a UI one.

I am fully aware that “mileage may vary” but I consider a very bad habit to create a distortion between screen display and final paper result. This causes confusion and suggests bad leads such as a “page style” instead of a screen theme.

@LeroyG: it looks like you’ve done it. This is why the Move to Answers has disappeared. Or somebody else did it for you.

While preparing my last comment, I discovered that only the comment’s author can Move to Answers. This is yet another regression compared to AskBot.

Also, you are at Leader trust level like me. If you don’t see the same commands, then there is something hidden in Discourse configuration. There is no longer any karma issue, therefore we should be granted the same possibilities. Unless there is some non-mastered feature in the configuration.

@LeroyG: same for me, I just checked (Firefox 93.0, Fedora 34)

@ajlittoz: I will delete my comments here, to follow in the new question I just posted.
