trouble opening an older writer doc

When I open the document, I see the first page. I cannot get to the second page. I cannot edit the document. HELP

It would help if you could tell us which version of LibreOffice you are using now, and which version was being used when the document was created or last editted. (Or maybe how long ago that was?)

You should also tell if there’s actually more than one page in the document.

And in which format the file was saved: .doc, .sxw, .docx, .odt?

Can you upload the doc so that we have a look? Is there a table in the first page that would not be allowed to span over pages? Please don’t answer your own question, you should be able to change it into a comment.

If you’re on Windows the file might have been marked as from internet by Windows.

In file explorer, right click on the file, select Properties. In the dialog select the security tab and untick the box that relates to locking the file originating from internet location.

Alternatively, your anti virus might have blocked the file, or if it’s on a shared folder then another computer anti virus might have locked it even if other computer is closed. AVG or Avast can do that

Thank you for the responses. The problem occurred after I did an update to Libre Office. The files was multiple pages and done in 2020. When I open the file as I had many times prior to the update all I get is the fron page. I am able to print all pages but not edit or see all pages on the computer. I save in both ODT and PDF and tried to open in both.

At the bottom of your “answer” is a link more please click on that then repost as comment.

Then add your operating system and LibreOffice version to your question (click edit below your question). Cheers, Al
