Ubuntu 22.04 came with libreoffice but it has a strange icon, cannot favorite

I started libreoffice in my new Ubuntu 22.04 but the icon is a gray gear and cannot be made a favorite, nor is it showing in Show Applications.

Indeed, there are a lot of bugs in the Ubuntu libreoffice install, and after installing it 2 more times 2 different ways (“sudo apt install” and “Software->Install”, and then rerunning and configuring JAVA that finally got noticed, the icon has gone normal (white rectangle with dogear upper right) and can be made favorite. Between them, Ubuntu and TDF have made a hash of this!
