What I wanted:
I added some Japanese text and I wanted to create the furigana, the hiragana that appears above each kanji.
What I did:
In Preferences > Language and Locals > General > Default languages for Documents > Asian: Japanese. I also selected Japanese fonts.
The Problem:
After I trying all the Japanese fonts, whenever I select the kanji and then select the Asian phonetic guide, an empty square box shows up in the ‘Base text’. And so, the Asian Phonetic Guide is not working for me.
My backup:
This is no problem because on Mac Pages it works fine. I was hoping it would work in LibreOffice, but apparently not.
In which file format do you save?
Hi. I’m just using a document and I haven’t even saved it yet, because it’s not working. If it worked then I would go ahead and save it. And if I have to save it first and then try it, then that’s too much, too many steps and confusion. I’ll just stick with Pages. Anyways, I appreciate your help. Thank you.
