Unable to paste text into Writer from PDF that will successfully paste into TextEdit

In TextEdit it causes an “RTFD” conversion alert. I’m using 7.2.5 under Mac OS Monterey 12.1

Linux and Windows OS don’t support the format and can damage it unintentionally so I don’t expect it is a bug.

menu:Edit>Paste-Special… Unformatted text should paste the naked characters.
