Running Windows 7, x64, fully updated. Had LibreOffice 4 but just installed 5 in an attempt to resolve this but it didn’t do anything. Every time I try to save a document, in any app, it crashes and loads the LibreOffice Document Recovery. It does this every single time so I am unable to save any docs.

Are you absolutely certain that your user has permission to save into the folder that you are attempting to use? (that is the question that everyone says ‘yes’ to without checking - it is the normal reason for the problem on almost every occasion).
Next, Reset to a Default Profile (Q58991) and try again.
