Uninstall/update 6.2.5.2 error 1316, can't remove

I started by trying to update 6.2.5.2 to the latest 7.5.1, but it popped up the 1316 error. So I decided to try uninstalling it first. The uninstall threw the same error, and wouldn’t uninstall. I’ve been trying repeatedly to manually uninstall, or find a download link for the old version so I can “repair” before uninstalling, but I can’t seem to find one. I tried manually removing the files, but that doesn’t seem to help at all either.

I tried using Ccleaner to remove it, but it doesn’t work either. So at this point I’m stuck with a broken piece of unusable software that blocks using more up to date software, and the only means for removing the problem being wiping my entire drive and reinstalling Windows. This is NOT a good situation.

The only links that show up even close to relating to this problem are for Linux, which doesn’t help at all.

Find the sentence “Older versions of LibreOffice (no longer updated!) are available in the archive” on the download page for current versions - the end is a link… Attention on downloading the right version (32/64 bit).

Maybe recheck your search string. As this is a typical windows problem I only get windows-threads with “LibreOffice error 1316”. Otherwise add your OS to the search like “LibreOffice error 1316 Win10”.
.
CCcleaner and Revo-Uninstall are often named to solve this kind of problems, if you can’t get the right version you used to install. But be very careful, where you download.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. Unfortunately the server hosting the files appears to be cancelling the download every second or two, so it’s not helping much yet.

Already tried those exact search strings, and the top 50 results are either for a completely different issue, or are for Linux issues. I think Google is just failing at its job right now.

I’ll give Revo-uninstall a try, since Ccleaner doesn’t work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Revo-uninstall didn’t work, but after about 20 min the old file download server started working, and after downloading (and for some reason, having to rename the file) I was able to repair, and uninstall the old version. Thank you for the assistance.

Perhaps try a different search engine; LibreOffice error 1316 windows 10 at DuckDuckGo seems to return Windows related results.
