I have acquired annoying inserts that impose themselves on every page of Libre Office Writer. They are labeled “SwXdrawpage.” They consist of multiple boxes with lists of configuration data. I cannot coax a bit of help from Help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Can I do anything to return to the version of Libre Office Writer I had before today? I have a Ubuntu software update pending. Did that have an anything to do with this? Thank you.
Please upload a screenshot at least - a sample file is the better choice.
More information: Operating system, LibreOffice version.
After updating: same problems?
You are welcome.
It is possible to find the term via google, but I have no idea, why this should be seen outside macro-peogramming.

Concerning Ubuntu: They use Snap, so you would need to check, if their Snapstore (or how they max call it) provides older versions.

As already suggested I would do the update first, if it is one of the regular updates they provide. If you mean a complete dist-update (new version of ubuntu like 24.10 to 25.04) this will give you a newer version of LibreOffice too. For this I always recommend a complete backup…
Thank you for your responses. I managed to get rid of the inserted screens (or boxes) by random clicking. Still not sure how they got there. Apparently all the open files were “stacking” on top of each other as “windows.” I maximized each one and eventually had separate files again. I don’t know what I did exactly to cause this. And I’m not sure if files will just stack together in future. But the situation resolved itself enough for me to get my work done. And I can live with this for the time being, until the solution becomes obvious.
