My wife asked me to try to find a way to scan in the UPC from a product and import the product name into a spreadsheet (for things like keeping track of supplements and when to reorder them).
After too much web searching, all I could come up with was one commercial add-in.
Does anyone know of a way to do this for free?
(Not really a cheapskate, just poor. Social Security… stinks.)
Try this application. Have not tried it myself (I don’t have a barcode scanner) but it should allow you to copy and paste this into LO Calc.

I would recommend using it with a clipboard manager ** such as ditto so that you do not lose item(s) that you have copied to your clipboard. It may also help you batch scan (one after the other) while ditto copies the code to clipboard. Then when ready to copy into LO Calc you goto Calc, press Ctrl + tilde (ditto hotkey / keyboard shortcut ) and select the codes that you want to paste into Calc.
