update for LibreOffice came as a FFV file. Windows can’t open it. What to do?
I finally did a search for FFV files on my drive. Found reference to Free File Viewer Client. Digging more with “search” I found a file called Free File Viewer uninstaller. I was suspicious about it but decided to run it anyway, planning to Restore to an earlier date if things went wrong. But it worked perfectly. Took only a few seconds.
In checking Control Panel, under Default Programs (change to Small Icons if this isn’t viewable), then click the second choice “Associate a file…” and scroll down the list to “.msi” (no quotes). Across from that you will see “Windows Installer Package” and you’re rid of the FFV intruder for good.
