Upgrade 25.8.0.x Problems

Since 25.8.0.x the Upgrade gives 3 errors :

Warning 1946. Property ‘System.AppUserModel.ID’ for shortcut ‘LibreOffice (Safe Mode).lnk’ could not be set.
Warning 1946. Property ‘System.AppUserModel.ID’ for shortcut ‘LibreOffice Base.lnk’ could not be set.
Warning 1946. Property ‘System.AppUserModel.ID’ for shortcut ‘LibreOffice Calc.lnk’ could not be set.

Next to that the “Check for Updates” no longer works : The popup is shown, with the lines of the 2 square boxes and at the bottom the 3 boxes for the buttons, but further there is no text in none of them

I have been installing (upgrading) all 25.8.0.x releases since 25.8.0.1 up to 25.8.0.3, all having the same issues

What I found with “1946 #english” seems to be Windows 7 related.

I’m on Windows 10 Pro since many years and have been using LibreOffice since then, and never got that error.

It started with LibreOffice 28.8.x

Same for :

That doesn’t mean anything. Maybe it used to be Windows 7 and was updated.

Yes, and I drove the same car for 10 years, and since yesterday it has a dent. Why?

Really, don’t you understand what the x means ?

2 problems:

  • For debugging the precise version can be very important.
  • 28.x.y is expected 3 years in the future…
